Let me share a little something that the local Piedmont Towns are doing that is really sweet. Most of the local townships have begun sponsoring cultural events that feature their local bands, crafts, artisans and musicians/performers. These cultural events generally run from Spring to Fall, and take place at municipal facilities which have convenient access to local businesses as well. Often they are on the weekends (for example Gibsonville’s Market on the Town Greens, with performances at the Depot Stage; or perhaps the Musical Chairs Concert Series, also featured below). These sponsorships follow the Athenian Model of Cultural Society and in addition to broadening the scope and magnitude of Arts and Education, help to improve the Quality of Life, while advancing the cause of Business and Enterprise; all in positive and non-destructive ways. These sponsorships are not only the life-blood of Arts, Music, and Culture but enrich the social fabric of our communities and shared consensus.
